ABOUT AMI PATEL, LMFT
A relational therapist for people carrying more than others realize.
Many of the clients I work with are carrying more than other people realize.
My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and insight-oriented- helping clients better understand themselves beneath the coping, overthinking, pressure, or survival responses that have shaped the way they move through life and relationships.
Together, therapy becomes a space for deeper understanding, steadier relationships, and meaningful change that actually feels sustainable.
HOW I WORK
A collaborative, trauma-informed approach that goes deeper.
Therapy with me is less about “fixing” you and more about understanding the patterns, experiences, and emotional responses that have shaped the way you move through relationships, stress, and everyday life.
Many clients come in feeling emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, stuck in overthinking, or frustrated that they understand their patterns intellectually but still feel caught in them emotionally.
My work is relational, insight-oriented, and grounded in helping clients build a stronger sense of internal steadiness- not just short-term coping.

THE KIND OF CLIENTS I WORK WITH
Therapy for Anxiety, Trauma & Relationship Patterns in Los Angeles
Many of the clients I work with are thoughtful, self-aware, and used to carrying a lot internally while still trying to function normally on the outside.
They may be navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship stress, burnout, people-pleasing, attachment wounds, or the feeling that no matter how much they do for others, it still doesn’t fully feel like enough.
Therapy offers space to better understand these patterns with more clarity and less self-judgment while building healthier ways of relating to yourself, your emotions, and the people around you.
Therapy with a South Asian Therapist
For many South Asian clients, there can be an unspoken pressure to hold everything together while carrying stress, responsibility, and emotion quietly underneath the surface.
As a South Asian therapist, I bring cultural understanding into the therapy room while recognizing that every person’s relationship to culture, family, identity, and healing is different. Therapy becomes a space to explore those experiences with more honesty, self-understanding, and less shame or self-abandonment.
Therapy that makes space for what’s underneath the surface.
For anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, and relationship patterns in Los Angeles and across California.
